About Auditorium of Maecenas, Rome
The so-called Auditorium of Maecenas belonged to the Horti Maecenatis, gardens linked to Augustus's adviser. Archaeologists now interpret the hall as a nymphaeum rather than an auditorium.
The decorated ancient hall survives within a small enclosed garden near Via Merulana.
