About Allen Home

Local settlers built the Allen Home in Anderson, Texas, during the nineteenth century as a private residence. Anderson served as the county seat of Grimes County and grew as a stagecoach and trade town along the Old San Antonio Road. The house reflected the modest domestic architecture typical of rural East Texas communities of that period.
