HISTORIC PRESERVATION at Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum (Seminole Tribe).

The museum occupies a purpose built modern structure surrounded by a boardwalk trail leading to a reconstructed traditional Seminole living village of chickee structures, none of which are original historic fabric. It is owned and operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida on the Big Cypress Reservation. The museum and grounds are open to the public on a ticketed basis.

About Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum (Seminole Tribe)

The Seminole Tribe of Florida established the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum on the Big Cypress Reservation, opening it in 1997 to preserve and present Seminole history and culture. Its name means a place to learn in the Seminole language. Its exhibits documented Seminole resistance, survival, and adaptation following the nineteenth-century Seminole Wars, alongside a reconstructed traditional village.
