About Abbey of Fécamp
A convent was founded at Fécamp in the mid seventh century and was refounded as a Benedictine abbey in the late tenth century by Duke Richard I of Normandy. The abbey held a relic believed to be Christ's blood, drawing pilgrims from across Europe. It also served as a ducal residence before its dissolution during the French Revolution.
