Moshe Mabovitch was a carpenter and the father of Golda Meir. He left the Russian Empire for Milwaukee before Blume and the children joined him in 1906.

EARLY LIFE

A carpenter in the United States, Moshe Yitzhak Mabovitch bought land in Herzliya while still living in America. He moved there with his family in 1926, built their house himself, and planted a ten-dunam orchard. He chaired the residents' committee for Herzliya's western Zone C and petitioned the town committee for access to its clinic and school.

CAREER

DEATH

Moshe Mabovitch died in 1944, after settling with his family in Herzliya in 1926. A description of a photograph from the Herzliya municipal archive gives April 8 as his death date, but another genealogical source gives April 9; the precise date remains unconfirmed. His cause of death and burial place were not established.
