Johann Caspar Goethe was a Frankfurt jurist and the father of the writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. He married Catharina Elisabeth Textor in 1748.

Johann Caspar Goethe died in Frankfurt on May 25, 1782, after a long illness. The Goethe House account does not identify a particular disease. He was buried at Petersfriedhof.
